People planting sea oats

MUVE is excited to provide opportunities for our community to give back to critical coastal habitats through philanthropic-based restoration workdays. On Saturday, May 7, 2022, MUVE and the Miami EcoAdventures Unit of Miami-Dade Parks are collaborating to enhance Crandon Park’s coastal dunes. At this public event, volunteers will plant native sea oats and clean the beach, so please wear sun protection and closed-toed shoes. All materials, water, and snacks will be provided. We encourage you to bring your own reusable gloves, reusable water bottle, and download the free CleanSwell app on your smartphone to collect marine debris data during the beach cleanup.

9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Volunteers will register on a first come, first serve basis. SPACES ARE LIMITED.

Registration closes Thursday, May 5.

Directions to check-in

  • Check-in will be located in the Crandon Park North Beach parking lot, at the picnic tables in front of the Crandon Watersports Concession, located at 6767 Crandon Blvd, Key Biscayne, FL 33149. To get to the Watersports Concession, enter Crandon Park through the ‘North Beach’ entrance, which is the second left hand turn once you’ve crossed the bridge onto Key Biscayne. Once inside the park, proceed past the information booth and head east towards the beach. At the sidewalk, turn left and proceed to the north end of the lot where you will see a building adjacent to the beach labeled ‘Watersports Concession’.

You can track your positive impact through the CleanSwell app on any smartphone.
