Museum Volunteers for the Environment (MUVE) hosts monthly volunteer workdays for anyone who is passionate about restoring Miami’s natural environment, and on Saturday, November 16, we’re inviting Frost Science members to join us!

On Saturday, November 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., members are invited to join MUVE in planting native plants in the coastal hammock habitat at Virginia Key North Point Beach Park on Key Biscayne. Join us for this special workday to get to know your Frost Science community while helping to make a difference in our environment. It’s time to #GetMuving!

During this volunteer workday, you will help plant native species in the coastal hammock. This important effort supports the restoration of the natural ecosystem, promoting biodiversity and stabilizing the area. Native plants play a crucial role in maintaining the health and resilience of coastal hammocks, helping to prevent erosion and create habitats for wildlife. These efforts contribute to the long-term stability and beauty of our coastal environment.

Capacity is limited and all participants must register by Thursday, November 14. Participants under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Participants under 18 years of age must have signed waiver by parent or legal guardian.

Please wear sun protection and closed-toe shoes. All materials, water, and snacks will be provided. We encourage you to bring your own reusable gloves and reusable water bottle.
