Dr. Schanandore is an associate professor at the University of Jamestown Physical Therapy Program (UJPT). Schanandore earned his PhD in Zoology from North Dakota State University in 2015. Both the teaching and research components of Schanandore’s doctoral preparation developed his expertise in human anatomy and physiology/pathology.

Schanandore has two lines of scholarly research. The first has a non-physical therapy focus utilizing human anatomy and physiology to aid in the production of biological profiles for deceased individuals for both modern and historical human remains. This research is completed using diagnostic imaging described as forensic radiology. Schanandore’s non-physical therapy research also includes consultant and collaboration work for Akhmim Mummy Studies Consortium, radiology department in the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, and the North Dakota State Historical Society.

The second line of research focuses on physical therapy. This includes a focus in physical therapy teaching and learning, ultrasound imaging applications, and 3D printing applications. Schanandore is part of professional and institutional committees including the University of Jamestown IRB committee, UJPT assessment committee, and the CAPTE standards revision committee. He also provides service to the community by providing teaching support for North Dakota State University program for learning enhancement for Native American students. This includes the Nurturing American Tribal Undergraduate Research and Education program and the Pre-Engineering Educations Collaborative.
