Dr. Alberto Cairo is the Knight Chair in Infographics and Data Visualization at the University of Miami, where he also works for the Institute for Data Science and Computing. He’s a journalist and a designer and has written several books about visualization, such as ‘How Charts Lie’ (2019) and ‘The Art of Insight’ (2023). Besides teaching at UM, Cairo is a consultant with companies and institutions such as Google, Microsoft, the World Bank, and several branches of the U.S. Federal Government.
