“In the winter of 1961, a fourteen-year-old boy came to Miami from Cuba, bought a $12 used bicycle and started a paper route four blocks north of where the new Frost Museum stands now. I loved my paper route. I never made more than $10 a week, but it gave me independence and a sense of purpose,” said Joseph “Pepé” Badia, President, Badia Spices. “Years later my three daughters spend a lot of their time at the Miami Science Museum in Coconut Grove. It’s an honor for me to be able to pay it forward and contribute to this incredibly beautiful new facility. I owe all that I am to South Florida and the people of South Florida.”
