Frost Science Welcomes Three New Board Members to its Board of Trustees

Frost Science is proud to announce the appointment of three esteemed professionals to its Board of Trustees: Jeffrey Applebaum, Matthew Denesuk, Ph.D., and Pradip Patiath. Each of these individuals brings unique expertise, leadership, and a passion for advancing science and education.

“We are delighted to welcome Mr. Applebaum, Dr. Denesuk, and Mr. Patiath to the Frost Science Board of Trustees,” said Cesar L. Alvarez, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Senior Chairman of Greenberg Traurig LLP. “Their combined experience in finance, technology, and philanthropy will be invaluable to our efforts as we continue to grow and innovate. We look forward to their leadership and contributions to the museum’s future.”

Jeffrey Applebaum is currently a Partner at Tyrus Capital. His previous leadership roles include serving as Chief Executive Officer of Kula Investments, LLC, and President of Pentwater Capital Management. Jeff graduated, Phi Beta Kappa, from Washington University in St. Louis with an A.B. in history and earned an MBA in finance and accounting from the Olin School of Business at the same institution. His deep expertise in investment management has made him an influential leader in various organizations, including as a trustee of the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, Pinecrest School in Ft. Lauderdale, and Washington University in St. Louis. Applebaum’s experience will support Frost Science’s fundraising initiatives and strategic growth.

Matthew Denesuk, Ph.D., is the Senior Vice President of Data Analytics & Artificial Intelligence at Royal Caribbean Group, where he leads the development of data-driven solutions across multiple business functions. His extensive career includes co-founding Noodle.ai, where he served as Chief Data Science Officer, and serving as Chief Data Science Officer and General Manager of the Data Science Center of Excellence at General Electric. With academic credentials from MIT and the University of Arizona, he has dedicated his career to applying mathematical and data-driven innovations to optimize operations. Dr. Denesuk will use his passion for data, AI, and education to further the museum’s mission and community engagement efforts.

Pradip Patiath is a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company and senior global leader in McKinsey’s financial services and digital practices, specializing in global financial services and digital transformations. With over two decades of experience, Patiath has worked across North America, Europe, and Asia, advising clients in the banking, asset management, and insurance sectors. He has held key leadership roles, including Chair of the Board of the Adler Planetarium in Chicago. He has also served on several other boards, including Northwestern University’s Kellogg School Global Advisory Board and the Chicago Humanities Festival. Patiath holds an MBA degree with distinction from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He also holds an MS degree in computer science and received his BS degree in mechanical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. Patiath will apply his deep knowledge of business engagement and philanthropic support to drive capital and operational efforts at Frost Science, building upon his extensive experience in the nonprofit and technology sectors.
